Hello and welcome!

I’m Bella Hartte, 46 years old and living in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where the sunsets light up the sky in breathtaking colors and the aroma of roasted chilies floats through the air. My love affair with cooking began when I was just a little girl, standing barefoot in my grandmother’s warm adobe kitchen.

A Memory That Sparked a Passion

It was a quiet afternoon when she invited me to help her make her famous blue corn pancakes. I was so excited, flour on my cheeks, my small hands eager to stir and measure. She taught me how to listen to the batter, how to flip with care, and most importantly, how food can carry tradition, comfort, and joy. That morning we cooked together is still one of my most treasured memories.

Growing With the Ingredients

As I grew, so did my curiosity. I began experimenting with local ingredients, learning how to balance flavors in a way that felt both nourishing and exciting. My grandmother remained my compass, gently reminding me to cook with heart, to pay attention, and to always taste before serving.

A Kitchen Full of Connection

Now, decades later, my kitchen is still my sanctuary. It’s where I wind down, create, and connect. I cook for friends, family, neighbors—anyone who happens to drop by. And they do, often! They come with empty Tupperware, questions about how I made the quinoa salad or the roasted veggie tacos, and leave full and smiling. I’ve even got a little list going of folks who call regularly for tips and tweaks to make their own meals just a bit healthier and more flavorful.

Sharing Beyond My Community

After enough of those calls and requests, I realized—why not take it further? Why not share my recipes beyond this charming town, with people who are hungry for both good food and guidance? Healthy cooking shouldn’t feel intimidating. It should be fun, flavorful, and something you look forward to.
